Some of the other areas that cause people stress are often work, money and if you have them, kids. There are ways to avoid excess stress in all of these areas though, it’s just a case of getting yourself organized. If work is stressing you out, take a short break, calm down and then try again. If it’s an ongoing issue, then take a few days off to give yourself a rest. If it’s money, then get your finances in order, or have a plan of how to do this. If it’s your kids, then again, a break is going to be best.

We know that when you have had a long day, the last thing that you want to do is head into the kitchen and start cooking a healthy dinner. But, it’s the best thing that you can do for yourself because your body needs the nutrients from the meals that you would cook rather than all the sugar and fat in the ready meal.

You never know, you might actually find cooking new recipes to be a therapeutic experience for you. Of course, eating junk is unhealthy on its own, but we’re talking more about things like smoking here. It’s extremely tough to stop things like this, but the impact that it will have on your health makes it well worth it. Your blood flow will increase, your lungs won’t be under so much strain and there are so many more benefits that make it worth considering.

You’ve got to be determined to see this through though. If not, it will end up the same way that people who struggle with eating healthy do, managing for a little while, but resorting back to old ways when things get tough.

Physical activity is crucial for your body and your mind. You need to be completing regular exercise if you want to be living the healthiest life possible. Don’t panic because you don’t need to go and join a gym, there are other ways that you can move more. This might include going swimming which is actually one of the best forms of exercise that you can do, or it might include heading out on a walk every morning and every evening.

If you think that you won’t be able to manage to motivate yourself to do this, then get an accountability partner. This is someone who also struggles to motivate themself, but you can both motivate each other. Doing this will make you more inclined to exercise, as you have someone to do it with. It can be more fun when you have someone with you, and you’re more likely to push yourself harder when you know that there is someone else watching.

The last thing that we’re going to be looking at is sleep. Sleep is one of those things that people think you don’t really need that much of to function, but they’re wrong. Sleep is good for your health because it gives your body the time that it needs to do all of the things it cannot do when you are awake. If you are not sleeping around seven hours of sleep per night, then you are not getting the amount of rest that your body needs. It is recommended that you try to get around seven hours, but this is for you to be working at maximum capacity.

Do your best to get as close to seven hours as you can to keep yourself healthy. Setting a bedtime routine can really help with this if you are struggling!
