3 Awkward Health Issues and How to Fix Them

Your health has so much to do with the quality of life you experience. When you are healthy, you feel good and are able to do so much more. Unfortunately, sometimes health issues crop up that can hinder your ability to live your life to the fullest. To add insult to injury, some of them are awkward to discuss as well.

Adult Acne

Acne is generally thought to be a problem that plagues teens, not adults. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case for some people. Adult acne has a few different causes, but the one thing that all adult acne has in common is that it is definitely embarrassing and can make you feel really self conscious. The first step in getting rid of your adult acne is understanding what’s causing it. Once you understand that, you can work on fixing the problem. Generally speaking, however, it’s most likely going to be a matter of keeping your skin clean and properly moisturized.

Bad Breath

Everyone’s been talking to someone and been hit with the stench of bad breath. It’s horribly unpleasant. But what if you’re the one with the bad breath? How do you fix it? Bad breath is primarily caused by poor oral hygiene. If you don’t take good care of your whole mouth, bacteria grow and make your breath stink. Braces make it even easier for bacteria to linger in your mouth. Make sure you are thoroughly cleaning all surfaces of your teeth, gums, tongue, and mouth. Remember to floss so you can really get between your teeth well.

Flatulence

Okay, so flatulence isn’t inherently a health issue. It’s a natural, normal body function, but it certainly can be embarrassing. If it’s excessive, however, it could be a sign that something is wrong. You could be suffering from lactose intolerance, or have irritable bowel syndrome to deal with. It could also be an indicator that you’ve suddenly increased the amount of fiber in your diet. If you think you’re dealing with excessive flatulence, that’s definitely something you want to bring up with your doctor. They can help you identify the cause so you can get back to living your best life without the embarrassment that comes from having excessive flatulence.

Embarrassing health issues can range from annoying to seriously harmful. There’s usually something you can do to address them though. Depending on the problem, you might be able to troubleshoot it yourself. Just remember to consult with a healthcare professional before making serious lifestyle or health changes.
